The accident occurred on a tram line in the northwestern part of the city. Reports indicate that one tram derailed and crashed into another tram approaching from the opposite direction.
Emergency services, including ambulances and rescue teams, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Officials confirmed that 13 passengers were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
At the time of the accident, around 70 passengers were reportedly on board the two trams. Some of the injured are believed to be in serious condition.
Moscow city authorities and prosecutors have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision. Preliminary assessments suggest that the accident may have been caused by a technical malfunction or derailment.
Tram services on the affected line were temporarily suspended while safety inspections were carried out.
