Economic and trade disputes between the USA and European countries continue.
In his statement on his social media account, US President Donald Trump stated that many European countries are considering activating a digital services tax on US-based companies and made harsh warnings about this situation.
Stating that some countries are very close to implementing this practice, Trump said that 100 percent customs duty will be applied to all products sent to the USA by any country that applies this tax. “This tariff will be on top of all trade agreements that have been made, entered into force, signed or not yet entered into force with that country,” Trump said.
Trump emphasized that if countries implement a digital services tax, a 100 percent customs duty will be applied immediately.
HE ACCUSED IRAN OF “VIOLATING THE CEASE CEASE”
US President Trump accused Iran of “violating the ceasefire” in his post on his social media account.
In his statement, Trump stated that a tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz was targeted by 4 Iranian drones, one of which hit the upper deck of the tanker, but the tanker continued on its way.
Stating that the other 3 drones were shot down by the US army, Trump said, “Frankly, this is a stupid violation of our ceasefire agreement.” he said
AGREEMENT BETWEEN IRAN AND THE USA
Iran and the USA announced that they had reached a 14-article agreement on June 14, within the scope of the negotiation process brokered by Pakistan, stipulating that the war should be stopped and the problems between the parties should be resolved through negotiations.
The memorandum of understanding, called the “Islamabad Memorandum”, came into force after it was signed digitally by Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkiyan and US President Donald Trump at night.
The agreement includes items such as ending the war, including Lebanon, opening the Strait of Hormuz, and lifting the naval blockade imposed by the USA on Iran.
Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding, the parties are expected to begin a 60-day negotiation process in a short time on issues such as Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions in order to reach a final agreement.
