US President Donald Trump made harsh statements against Iran in his post on his Truth Social account.
Trump stated that the USA will hit Iran “very hard tonight” and claimed that the Iranian army has been largely neutralized.
Claiming that most of Iran’s navy, air force, radar systems and air defense capacity have now disappeared, Trump argued that Tehran’s attack capacity has also been significantly weakened.
“WE WILL CAPTURE HARK ISLAND”
Trump also said that Hark Island, one of Iran’s most important oil export centers, and other energy infrastructure points will be taken under control in the “not too distant future.”
Hark Island, which plays a critical role in Iran’s oil exports, is seen as one of the country’s most important energy terminals and most of Iran’s crude oil exports are carried out from here.
In his post, Trump argued that a similar approach could be applied to Iran, referring to the policy followed by the USA in Venezuela. However, he did not provide details on how these goals would be achieved.
Trump’s full post is as follows:
“The United States is going to hit Iran very hard tonight – its navy, air force, radars, air defense systems and all other defenses, as well as most of its offensive capacity are now gone.”
In the not too distant future, we will capture Hark Island and other oil infrastructure points and assume full control of the oil and gas markets, as we did in Venezuela. “This model produces extremely successful results for both Venezuela and the United States.”
THE HEART OF IRAN OIL: WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF KHARK ISLAND?
Hark Island, located in the north of the Persian Gulf, is of vital importance for the Iranian economy. The island, which is about one-third the size of Manhattan, hosts the main terminal where approximately 90 percent of Iran’s crude oil exports are carried out.
The deep waters around the island are one of the rare areas that allow giant oil tankers to dock. This feature makes Hark Island an indispensable center for Iran to transport its oil to global markets by sea.
GIANT TERMINAL THAT CAN LOAD 10 SUPERTANKERS
The island, which has played a key role in Iran’s oil exports since the 1960s, has large storage tanks, pipelines and some of the country’s largest energy facilities. The terminal has the capacity to load approximately 10 supertankers at the same time.
