Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want to end the war.
Zelenskiy evaluated the latest developments regarding the Russia-Ukraine war in his daily video post on his social media account.
Reminding that they carried out a new prisoner exchange with Russia, Zelenskiy stated that 185 Ukrainian soldiers and 1 civilian returned to their country today.
Stating that a total of 1,429 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians have been released within the scope of prisoner exchange since the beginning of the year, Zelenskiy said that they are preparing for negotiations with the USA and Europe to end the war.
“We know that the Europeans are preparing new steps to support Ukraine,” Zelenskiy said.
Evaluating the response to the open letter he sent to Russian President Putin yesterday, Zelenskiy argued that Russia made the choice to continue the war.
Zelenskiy used the following statements:
“Unfortunately, the Russian side chooses war again. Everyone heard today’s answer. It is a weak answer. Putin does not want to end the War. I think many people in the world are disappointed with this answer. He does not want to change anything, he does not want to admit that only he and those who make money from him love war, everyone was smiling a lot today.” In his open letter published yesterday, Zelenskiy called on Putin for the two leaders to come together and end the war. Putin, on the other hand, stated that the letter contained rude expressions and that he “does not see any point for now” in meeting with Zelenskiy at the current stage.
