A source close to the Iranian negotiating team made a statement on the issue to the semi-official Fars News Agency. The source stated that negotiations between Tehran and Washington will not take place unless the United States steps back from its current stance.
NEGOTIATION WAS NOT REQUESTED
The source also denied the reports in the Israeli media that Iran requested negotiations with the United States and said:
“The indication that the USA is taking a step back is the establishment of the Lebanon working group to end the war, ensuring the withdrawal, resolving the issue of passage through the Strait of Hormuz and putting into practice other agreed upon issues, especially the normalization of Iran’s oil exports.”
