Following the recent attack, former U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a series of remarks that quickly drew international attention, particularly regarding Iran, diplomacy, and regional strategy.
Trump claimed that Iran had repeatedly approached the negotiating table only to withdraw at critical moments.
“The Iranians were getting close to a deal, and then they pulled back; they got close again, and then they pulled back. From this, I understood that they never actually wanted a deal.”
Alignment with Netanyahu
Trump also confirmed a direct conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing unity between Washington and Tel Aviv.
“We had a very good conversation with Netanyahu; we are in full agreement on everything.”
The statement reinforces the perception of strong strategic coordination between the United States and Israel amid escalating tensions in the region.
“Multiple Exit Options” on the Table
Trump suggested that the current situation presents several strategic pathways.
“This operation gives me many exit options.”
He outlined two possible scenarios: either prolonging the process to maintain full control over developments, or bringing the situation to a rapid conclusion within days.
“I can stretch out the process and take full control of everything, or I can end it within a few days and tell the Iranians, ‘If you start rebuilding, we’ll talk again in a few years.’”
Long-Term Impact on Iran
According to Trump, regardless of the chosen path, the aftermath of the attack will significantly affect Iran’s recovery timeline.
“In any case, after this attack, it will take them several years to recover.”
