Search and rescue efforts continue at night in a shopping mall that partially collapsed in the city of General Santos following the powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred on the morning of June 8 in the Mindanao region of the southern Philippines.
While many buildings and structures were destroyed in the region after the earthquake, in which at least 37 people lost their lives and more than 100 people were injured, rescue operations initiated to reach those under the rubble continue.
In the city of General Santos, the Lagao campus of Notre Dame Dadiangas University, which partially collapsed due to a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, suffered severe damage.
