Negotiations between the United States and Iran have reportedly reached an impasse. Iranian media claimed that the Iranian government refused to participate in the second round of talks with the U.S., which were expected to take place in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
According to Iranian media, the decision was made due to what Iran considers excessive demands by the United States, unrealistic expectations, a constantly shifting stance, and the ongoing naval blockade, which Tehran views as a violation of the ceasefire.
In previous reports, Iranian outlets had already suggested that the government had not made any decision to send a negotiation delegation to Pakistan due to the U.S. blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. “The Iranian delegation emphasized that no negotiations would take place as long as Trump’s naval blockade against Iran remains in effect,” the reports stated.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the American delegation would be in Islamabad tomorrow evening for the negotiations and said:
“I hope they accept this deal, because if they don’t, the United States will strike every power plant and every bridge in Iran. No more being nice! They will be destroyed quickly and easily. If they do not accept the deal, it will be an honor for me to do what should have been done to Iran by other presidents over the past 47 years. It’s time for the Iranian death machine to end!”
