In a post shared on social media platform X, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian evaluated the negotiations held between Iran and the United States in Oman.
“The Iran–U.S. talks, conducted through the initiatives of friendly governments in the region, represent a step forward,” Pezeshkian said.
Stressing that dialogue has always been Tehran’s core strategy for resolving disputes peacefully, the Iranian president stated: “Our approach to the nuclear issue is based on the clear rights enshrined in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The Iranian nation has always responded to respect with respect, but it does not accept the language of force.”
Nuclear talks between Iran and the United States, which had been suspended following Israeli and U.S. attacks on Iran in June 2025, recently resumed in Oman.
The negotiations took place at a time when tensions between Tehran and Washington were once again rising, with Washington increasing its military buildup in the region against Iran.
The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the United States was represented by Steve Witkoff, the Middle East Special Envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said regarding the talks: “The negotiations in Muscat between Iran and the United States concluded with the parties agreeing to continue the discussions.”
