The Toronto International Film Festival, considered the largest film festival in the world after Cannes and also known as the “herald of the Oscars”, continues in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The premiere of the movie “Sly” was held at the festival, which was held for the 48th time this year.
The hero of the movie, Sylvester Stallone, also attended the event.
For nearly 50 years, Sylvester Stallone has entertained millions with iconic characters and blockbuster franchises from Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables. This documentary offers an intimate look at the Oscar-nominated actor-writer-director-producer, drawing parallels between his inspiring underdog story and the indelible characters he brings to life.
“I just wrote what I knew. I wrote about this little mentally disabled guy who had a lot of heart,” he said in a pre-festive interview, talking about the first Rocky Balboa character that took shape in his mind and on the page.
While describing the character of Rocky, Stallone also said, “‘I’m no good at all, I never will be. I fight great fighters. “But I just wanted to write a movie about a man who said, ‘I just want the opportunity to go far,'” he said.
Stallone was accompanied by Frank Stallone, Jennifer Flavin, John Herzfeld and Rebekah Chaney on the red carpet before the premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
