According to the report, it was calculated that it prevented approximately 1600 tons of carbon emissions in 2022. It was reported that this amount is equal to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by approximately 72 thousand trees from the atmosphere in 1 year.
With the report, Martı also announced his new sustainability vision, called Move Forward.Together. The Move Forward.Together vision is based on three strategic pillars: ‘Smart Mobility’, ‘Clean Cities’ and ‘Safe Journeys’. In this road map, the company aims to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of vehicles (smart mobility), reduce environmental impacts (clean cities), and increase safety for both users and citizens (safe journeys).
“WE ARE DETERMINED TO BUILD A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE”
Evaluating the report, Martı Founder and CEO Oğuz Alper Öktem said, “We are happy to present our first sustainability report in line with our determination to build a sustainable future. We believe that in the near future, all transportation vehicles will be electric and all electric vehicles will be shared. “In this context, we offer transportation solutions and we will continue to do so,” he said.
In the sustainability report, the achievements of the electric vehicle fleet stand out as the primary environmental impact of Seagull. Analyzes revealed that e-scooters cause 18 percent less carbon emissions compared to conventional urban transportation alternatives, while e-bikes and e-mopeds have a 40 percent lower environmental impact compared to the average urban transportation journey in Turkey.
Accordingly, it was calculated that the company will prevent approximately 1600 tons of carbon emissions in 2022. It was reported that this amount is equal to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed from the atmosphere by approximately 72 thousand trees in one year.
The company’s primary sustainability goal is to become a ‘net zero’ company by zeroing out the carbon emissions of all its logistics operations as well as its own activities by 2030. With this goal, all vehicles in which Martı carries out its logistics operations are planned to be converted to electric vehicles in this process.
